Surrey Small Village of the Year 2011

In September 2011, East Clandon was named the "Surrey Small Village of the Year". The annual competition, sponsored by Fullers brewery and hosted by Surrey Community Action focuses on four areas of rural village life: communities, business, sustainability and communications.

East Clandon also won the "Best Community Village" category. The judges were impressed with the presentation in the village hall which depicted the "Village with a big heart in a small but vibrant body". The colourful presentation, consisting mainly of photographs of all aspects of the village year is available to view (PDF 10Mb - a big file about a small village).
